Pharmacies are usually identified by a green cross. The usual opening hours are from 8.30am to 8pm, though in the suburbs they sometimes close at 1.30pm. There is a rotating night shift during which a surcharge is usually applied to medicines. The pharmacies that are open 24 hours a day do not charge any extra during the night, however.
Outside each pharmacy you ought to find a list of the other pharmacies open in the area. The Roman newspapers also publish a complete list every day.
If you wish to find out which pharmacies are open during the night and/or the weekend you can call 06-228941. This number can also be used when urgent medicines for old or disabled people are needed.

For people staying at the Bed and Breakfast Little Italy, Rome’s closest night pharmacy is the one on Piazza dei Cinquecento (the address is slightly misleading, since the pharmacy is not on the big bus square in front of Rome Termini itself, but across the road, on the corner of Via Cavour.
For guests of the B&B Chaplin Hostel the one inside Termini (one level down from the central hallway) is the nearest one. After 10pm they ill also have to go to the Piazza dei Cinquecento one.
