For those visitors who come to Rome just for a day, or for those visitors (who clearly did not stay at the B&B Chaplin Hostel Rome or the Bed and Breakfast Little Italy) whose hosts do not allow them to leave their luggage after check-out, there is indeed a luggage storage at Rome Termini. It is on Termini’s lower level andnot very well signposted, but the directions are not difficult: You walk along platform 24 till you see some steps on your right. Go down those steps and you will find the luggage department right in front of you. You can also take the escalators down one floor, follow the signs for the Via Giolitti-exit and turn left before actually going back up again. After a couple of escalators you will see the luggage storage on your right.
The rates are €3,80 for the first five hours (regardless of whether you leave your bags or suitcases for 5 seconds, 5 minutes or 5 hours, you will be charged €3,80). For the next 7 hours you pay €0,60 per hour and for every hour after that €0,20 per hour.
The lines are often quite long, so if your hostel, B&B or hotel lets you, you will be far better off leaving your backpacks or suitcases with them. At the Rome Hostel Chaplin Bed and Breakfast we do this for free and also at the B&B Little Italy you will not need to carry your stuff around Rome with you. What we do ask is that you tell us in advance at what time you will be back to claim your luggage and that you are punctual in doing so.
Does this mean I could leave my suitcas with you for the day if I do not stay at the Hostel? i would be willing to pay.
Hello Byron,
That would be a bit much, now, wouldn’t it? Of course we only do this for our guests at the Chaplin Hostel and the Bed and Breakfast Little Italy.
Regards
Thanks very much for the information on the Termini luggage storage. This information is a life-saver for me!
AlanC {in Rome, but leaving soon.. so sad}
Is this the rate for each bag or for a certain amount of space or area ?? I am trying to figure if there are two of us who are trying to store 3-4 check-in size luggage with a perimeter of 62 inch each how much would it cost.
That would be the rate per bag, so with the information above you ought to be able to make the calculations yourself.
Hello! I would like to leave 2 big suitcases for a month in Rome
Is there a possibility to do that? Where?
Thank you so much…
You could do it at the luggage storage in Termini or at Fiumicino airport, but it would be quite expensive. If you are staying in the same hotel or b&b both at the beginning and end of your trip you could ask them to stor it for you.
